Tuscany is one of those places that naturally fits gravel riding.

White roads crossing the hills, vineyards changing colour throughout the day, quiet villages and long stretches of countryside where the pace slows down naturally. Riding here is not about performance or speed, but about spending time outside and experiencing the landscape in a different way.

This tour follows some of the most iconic gravel roads in Italy, combining flowing Strade Bianche, quieter secondary roads and more remote countryside sectors through areas such as Chianti, Val d’Orcia and the Crete Senesi.

The riding is designed to be balanced and enjoyable, with enough time to stop, explore and fully experience the atmosphere of Tuscany both on and off the bike.

The Experience

Gravel riding in Tuscany has a very particular rhythm.

The terrain constantly changes between compact white roads, vineyard tracks and quiet countryside lanes connecting medieval villages, panoramic hills and open landscapes. Climbs are steady rather than extreme, making the riding challenging enough to feel rewarding while remaining enjoyable throughout the week.

This is not designed as a performance camp, but as a complete cycling journey through one of the most iconic regions in Italy.

Days are built around long hours outside, relaxed stops, local food, quiet hotels and the atmosphere that makes Tuscany such a unique place to explore by bike.

Beyond the Bike

Part of the experience begins once the ride is over.

Evenings are spent in carefully selected boutique hotels and countryside properties surrounded by vineyards, rolling hills and small historic villages. Local restaurants, wine tastings and the slower rhythm of the Tuscan countryside naturally become part of the journey itself.

For non-riding companions, the region also offers plenty to enjoy away from the bike, from thermal spas and wineries to historic towns and relaxed days exploring the landscape at a different pace.

Arrival at the hotel and welcome briefing with the guide team. Bike setup, route presentation and time to relax and enjoy the atmosphere of the Tuscan countryside before the start of the tour.
Non-Rider Activities: Either relax in the hotel’s private gardens and spa or take a walk through the vineyards and olive groves to the village of Lecchi in Chianti, with wine and olive oil tastings along the Via Francigena

The first stage immediately introduces the character of Tuscany: rolling hills, vineyards, white gravel roads and quiet villages connected by scenic countryside routes through the Chianti region.
